Selection of Candidates
We interview approximately 80 candidates each year and although we receive applications from many hundreds of well-qualified candidates, it is not possible to interview all who apply. Each application is reviewed in its entirety with an interest in diverse candidates demonstrating overall academic excellence, proven leadership ability, work experience, personal character and career development potential. Our application deadline is September 30th. Interview invitations are extended in early November and although we are not able to extend this invitation to all of our highly qualified applicants, we do email everyone who applies to our program with our decision.
Importantly, as part of our commitment to training future leaders in surgery, we recognize the importance of diversity in maintaining excellence in education, advocacy, and research.
