West Coast Surgery Collaborative Visiting Professor Program

UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON SELECTION PROCESS

ELIGIBILITY

The program is open to all faculty Assistant Professors (year 4 and up) and Associate Professors.

NOMINATION PROCESS

All University of Washington Department of Surgery faculty will be invited to submit a nomination to this program. This first step will be anonymous; self-nominations and peer nominations are strongly encouraged. Division Chiefs will be encouraged to consider nominating at least one junior/mid-career faculty.

Nomination period closes Friday, May 10, 2024.

Nominated faculty will be invited to apply. Faculty interested in applying will be asked to fill an application form detailing how being selected for Visiting Grand Rounds will impact their professional development and career advancement; networking and future collaborations opportunities that could arise with this Grand Rounds and describing the topic/focus of research to be presented during Grand Rounds, including learning objectives.

SELECTION PROCESS

A selection committee composed of one member of the A&P Committee, one of the Diversity Council and one from the Women’s Council will evaluate the applications and select the UW representative to the West Coast Surgery Collaborative Visiting Professor Program. Applicants will be ranked based on the potential impact of this program towards their career and alignment with UW Department of Surgery mission including ongoing efforts of promoting healthcare equity.
