Henry Harkins Surgical Society

Dr. Henry Harkins, the first chairman of the University of Washington's Department of Surgery, established the Henry Harkins Surgical Society in 1955. Membership is by invitation only and is extended to all graduating residents and fellows of the Department of Surgery, as well as active faculty members. The goals of the Society are to establish and maintain a sense of unity among the members, provide a means to disseminate the surgical and personal accomplishments of the individual members, and support the UW surgical residents in their surgical training.

The Harkins Annual Fund for Surgery Resident Education

This fund supports the educational activities for department residents, including research, travel, conference participation, and supplies.
