Bio:
I was born and raised in Upstate New York. After completing my bachelors degree in Biology at the University of Rochester, I spent two years in a basic science research lab at Columbia University Medical Center studying DNA double-strand break repair pathways. I then attended medical school at the University at Buffalo School of Medicine before coming back to Columbia for general surgery residency. During my residency, I completed a one year ECMO fellowship which provided an incredible experience in ECMO and lung transplantation.
Personal Interests:
Running, cycling, swimming, hiking, rock climbing.
Clinical Interests:
Thoracic surgery, lung transplantation, and ECMO
Why UW?
The Cardiothoracic Surgery Fellowship Program at the University of Washington allows their fellows and residents to gain an incredibly broad and diverse experience in all facets of both cardiac and thoracic surgery. Given my interests in both thoracic surgery and lung transplantation, I was looking for a program that provided great training in both of those areas as well.
What advice do you have for incoming interns?
Embrace the relationships you create in that first year. These people will become your family for the years to come.
What do you like best about living in Seattle?
So many opportunities for running, cycling, and hiking in the most beautiful area of the country.
