Hometown:

Phoenix, Arizona

Medical School:

University of California, San Diego School of Medicine

Bio:

I grew up in Phoenix, Arizona. I attended the University of California, Los Angeles and California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, CA where I studied Molecular and Cellular Biology, with minors in Biotechnology and Psychology. Following graduation, I managed a pediatric medical scribe practice. I headed south to San Diego and earned my doctorate in medicine from the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine. While at UCSD I had the opportunity to learn from and work with amazing mentors who helped me discover my interest in surgical education and mentorship. I hope to cultivate and further refine my teaching and mentoring style during residency.

Personal Interests:

Hiking in National Parks, skiing, baking, gardening, fostering dogs and volunteering at animal shelters, clothes flipping, trying out new restaurants, hanging out with my partner and our dog!

Clinical Interests:

Microsurgery, breast reconstruction

Why UW?

I chose to do a sub-internship at the University of Washington because of its high volume, resident autonomy, and opportunities to learn traumatic reconstruction. While on my rotation, I was immediately drawn to the supportive training environment and warm culture. The residents and faculty were interested in my development both in and out of the operating room. The environment at UW is unlike any other institution and I’m honored to be a part of this team!

What do you like best about living in Seattle?

Even at 4AM on the way to the hospital, I love driving over the bridges and waterways that make the city of Seattle so unique. On my days off, there is always another amazing restaurant or coffee shop to try. And as an avid hiker and skier, the proximity to the mountains is unmatched!
