I grew up in Beijing, China and moved to Colorado Springs for undergraduate studies at Colorado College, where I majored in neuroscience. I switched gears during my PhD years at Yale University and studied interbacterial interactions in the gut microbiome. During medical school at Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth, I pursued research in intraoperative genomic sequencing, where I fell in love with the operating room. I am excited to bring my passion for surgery to the Department of Surgery at UW!
