Bio:

I am a Colorado native with strong interests in global surgery, public health, and humanitarianism. I previously worked as an EMT and first aid trainer in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. In collaboration with local emergency physicians and researchers, we designed, implemented, and evaluated an initiative which trains Tanzanian public transit drivers in aspects of first aid for people injured in road traffic crashes. I hope to continue international work throughout my career, particularly with vulnerable populations.

Personal Interests:

Skiing, world travel, exercise, good books, and occasionally tennis.

Clinical Interests:

ACS/trauma surgery, prehospital care, trauma systems in LMIC.

What advice do you have for incoming interns?

As an incoming intern at the time I’m writing this, my thoughts are to have a beginner’s mind, to try not to make the same mistake twice, and to bring a good attitude every day.
