Bio:

I was born and raised in Bukavu, a town in eastern DRC, before moving to the U.S. for college at Indiana State University. I completed my medical degree in Atlanta, where I also engaged in research focused on surgical access and health disparities. Along the way, I’ve been fortunate to learn from mentors who shaped my passion for global surgery, health equity, and patient-centered care. I’m drawn to the precision and purpose of surgery, and I’m excited to train at UW – a place that combines rigorous clinical training with a strong commitment to service, innovation, and community impact.

Personal Interests:

Trying new restaurants, painting (very amateur), baking, browsing local markets for fresh finds, exploring nature, and indulging in guilty-pleasure reality TV shows

Clinical Interests:

Global Surgery and Health Equity, Colon and Rectal Surgery, Surgical Oncology.

Professional Activities:

American College of Surgeons
Association of Women Surgeons
Latino Surgical Society
Physicians for Human Rights
Student National Medical Association

Why UW?

I chose UW because during my away rotation, I found exactly what I was looking for: a place that challenged me to grow while making me feel supported and valued. I was surrounded by residents and faculty who were not only exceptional at what they do but also deeply invested in teaching and mentorship. The training is rigorous, the culture is collaborative, and the commitment to serving diverse communities really resonated with my own passion. It felt like the right place to become the surgeon I’ve always hoped to be.

What do you like best about living in Seattle?

The summers. Beautiful weather, flowers in full bloom, and long evenings – perfect for long walks!
