Bio:
I was born and raised in the Bay Area before earning my BA in Human Biology with a focus in Global Women’s and Children’s Health from Stanford University. As an undergraduate, I completed fieldwork on prehospital and emergency care systems in Dhulikhel, Nepal, which sparked my interest in medicine and improving healthcare delivery in resource-limited settings. After completing a postbacc program at Goucher College, I attended the USC Keck School of Medicine, where I developed a passion for pediatric and acute care surgery, violence intervention, and systems improvement. I am thrilled to join the UW surgery community, where I can continue to serve diverse patient populations in a safety-net setting.
Personal Interests:
Outside of the hospital, I love spending time outdoors with my partner and our dog, Rico, including hiking, backpacking, and biking. I am an open-water swimmer and recently discovered a passion for ultramarathon running. I also enjoy slower pursuits like charcoal illustration and pottery. Travel is a big part of my life — I have visited over 30 countries and am always planning my next trip!
Clinical Interests:
Pediatric surgery; trauma and acute care surgery; global health; violence intervention; child abuse and neglect
Why UW?
UW’s reach across the WWAMI region provides unparalleled breadth of clinical exposure, and the program’s combination of world-class trauma and acute care surgery training at Harborview Medical Center and cutting-edge pediatric surgery at Seattle Children’s checks all my boxes. Beyond the training itself, UW’s demonstrated commitment to global health surgery aligns deeply with my own values and research background. And above all, I was drawn to the warmth and collegiality of the resident and faculty community, all set within one of the country’s most breathtaking natural landscapes.
