Hometown:

Bellevue, WA

Medical School:

University of California, San Francisco

Bio:

Originally from Illinois, I grew up in Bellevue, WA and later attended Stanford University for college, where I majored in Biology and in Comparative Studies in Race and Ethnicity. After graduating, I matriculated to the UCSF School of Medicine and developed an interest in plastic surgery during my third year. I completed a research year at the UCSF Craniofacial Center, analyzing outcomes of strip craniectomy in metopic craniosynostosis and identifying inequities in diagnosis and treatment of pediatric craniofacial conditions. I’m now very excited to return to Seattle for my residency training!

Personal Interests:

cooking, eating, exploring the city, archery, tennis, kayaking, watching reality TV

Clinical Interests:

health inequities, craniofacial surgery, hand surgery

Professional Activities:

Latino Plastic Surgery Society, Latino Surgical Society, American Cleft Palate Association

Why UW?

It is rare to find a program that balances high volume clinical training, a supportive environment, and consistent dedication to teaching, but the UW Plastic Surgery program has all of those things in spades. UW also has a genuine dedication to diversity among faculty, residents, students, and even patients. I’m looking forward to working with patients from throughout the WWAMI region!

What do you like best about living in Seattle?

Living near the water, great food and culture in the city, being near home, seeing the family dog Leo (he’s a shihpoo with class III malocclusion), avoiding snowy winters
