Bio:
I’m a Connecticut native who originally wanted to pursue music and made the switch to medicine in high school. Before medical school I worked as a paramedic and an AHA instructor, and sought travel experiences to help me better understand the intersection of healthcare and economics in other parts of the world. In that pursuit, my wife and I started a non-profit in Kenya, and I hope to continue to merge my global interests with my surgical career. UW attracted me because of the unique clinical experiences, support for global health, and boundless opportunities for outdoor recreation.
Personal Interests:
Fitness, hiking/camping, fly fishing, guitar, jazz/blues music, travel.
Clinical Interests:
Cardiothoracic surgery
Professional Activities:
ACS Resident Member
Why UW?
I chose UW because it was the one program that stood out to me on my interview day, where every attending I met genuinely took an interest in who I was as an individual. That coupled with excellent exposure to all surgical subspecialties and good mix of academic medicine and a county trauma system made this my top choice.
