Bio:

Born in the prairies of central Canada, I grew up hunting, playing football and powerlifting. Inspired by my mother, a socially focused entrepreneur (and my idol), I studied business in college. After which, I worked as a management consultant at Deloitte, where I developed a passion for data science and digital technologies. During medical school I was selected to complete a two-year research fellowship at New York University (NYU) where I was honored to be a part of the research team that contributed to the first successful human eye transplant. I believe in the profound social and psychological impacts of plastic and reconstructive surgery and I am driven to improve and expand equitable reconstructive care.

Personal Interests:

Outside the hospital I love spending time with my partner and our dogs. I am an avid reader, particularly philosophy and business. I love to swim, work out, and meditate. I love playing card games with friends, particularly cribbage and Texas Hold’em poker. I love going to shows, whether live theatre or music of any kind. I have a life long wanderlust and while traveling you can find me meandering through cities, museums and nature, taking any chance I get to meet new people. I am passionate about entrepreneurship, data science and digital technologies, and outside the operating room I am constantly thinking about the application of these tools in new and equitable ways.
