Undergraduate School:

University of California-Los Angeles

Medical School:

Bio:

I’m a California native who grew up as a competitive cheerleader and continued collegiate cheerleading while at UCLA while studying Psychobiology with a minor in Gerontology. I decided to pursue surgery after shadowing while at UCLA. It was incredible to watch the patients’ lives change in a few short hours. The same teamwork, choreography, strive for perfection, and performance aspect that drew me to cheerleading, I found again in surgery and inspired me to become a general surgeon.

Personal Interests:

Running, hiking, reading, traveling, golfing, and cheering on UCLA and the Pittsburgh Steelers

Clinical Interests:

Trauma and critical care, surgical education

Professional Activities:

ACS, AAS, ASE, AWS

Why UW?

UW is an incredible program, especially as the level I trauma center and burn center for five states. The exposure and acuity of patients is unparalleled in one of the best cities in the US.

What advice do you have for incoming interns?

“Be quick but don’t hurry” – John Wooden

What do you like best about living in Seattle?

I love being able to take advantage of all the opportunities the city has to offer and being able to drive a few short minutes out of the city and explore the outdoors.
