Bio:

I grew up in Troy, Montana, a small town of 900 people located in the northwest corner of the state (just over a six-hour drive from Seattle!). I went to Montana State University in Bozeman for undergrad where I majored in Cell Biology and Neuroscience. After three years of working as a scribe and in a pediatric clinic, and volunteering with local youth programs, I moved to Portland where I attended medical school at Oregon Health & Science University. I am beyond excited to continue my training as a general surgery resident at the UW!

Personal Interests:

Hiking, paddle boarding, skiing, camping, and playing pickleball! I also enjoy spending time with my cat, Slinky, and my husband.

Clinical Interests:

Trauma/critical care, global/rural surgery, or transplant surgery (but still exploring!).
In terms of research, I am interested in health equity and social determinants of health research, and identifying and implementing strategies to improve access to surgical care.

Professional Activities:

Gold Humanism Honor Society
Alpha Omega Alpha
Association of Women Surgeons
American College of Surgeons
American Medical Association

Why UW?

UW is an incredible place to train, with a well-rounded and broad clinical experience at a variety of healthcare settings, and vast opportunities to get involved in research. I also chose UW because of the unique opportunity to care for patients from across the WWAMI region (including my home state of Montana!).

What do you like best about living in Seattle?

Seattle is a beautiful city with access to all things outdoors! I love going for walks by the water, exploring new coffee shops, and riding the ferry!
