Bio:

I was born in Germany and moved around quite a bit growing up, but I consider my two homes Oahu (where I went to high school) and Northern Virginia. I graduated from Johns Hopkins in 2019 with degrees in molecular biology and psychology, worked as a barista during my gap year, and moved to New York City for medical school at Columbia University. There I became passionate about health equity and advocacy, especially related to healthcare access and insurance status. I also became involved in clinical research in surgical oncology/HPB and liver transplant. I am excited to start my surgical residency at UW and explore the PNW with my husband and cat!

Personal Interests:

Dancing, playing piano, cross-stitching and crocheting, doing the NYT crossword, making and drinking coffee, exploring new restaurants, playing video games, going to see live music and theatre.

Clinical Interests:

Surgical oncology, hepatopancreaticobiliary surgery, liver transplant, health policy, equity, and advocacy

Professional Activities:

Alpha Omega Alpha
Gold Humanism Honor Society
Association of Women Surgeons

Why UW?

I was drawn to UW’s supportive culture, breadth and quality of training, robust research opportunities, and beautiful location with both city and nature nearby.
