Bio:

After I graduated from the University of Florida (go gators!) I moved to New Orleans to purse a Master’s in Medical Genetics at Tulane. Subsequently, I decided to do an AmeriCorps service year building houses with the New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity. After my AmeriCorps term, I continued working with Habitat as a site supervisor. The following year, I joined the United States Air Force and began medical school Tulane University School of Medicine. I continued to volunteer and lead my peers in building affordable housing in New Orleans during this time. I was privileged to have excellent experiences in my surgical clerkships, and decided to pursue a career in surgery. Upon graduation from Tulane, I was promoted to the rank of Captain in the USAF. I am now so excited to continue my training at UW!

Personal Interests:

New Orleans Saints, basketball, outdoors, going out to eat, DIY projects, OneWheel

Clinical Interests:

Trauma/Acute Care surgery, healthcare for structurally marginalized communities, medical education

Why UW?

The opportunity to learn and train in several diverse healthcare settings will no doubt prepare me for my career, both in the military and beyond. I am also excited for the opportunity to pursue two years of dedicated research.

What do you like best about living in Seattle?

Access to the great outdoors!
