Bio:

After graduating from UW with a global health minor, I joined the Peace Corps where I served in Guyana working as a health services volunteer. From that experience I became very interested in expanding rural and underserved surgical care. I joined ESFCOM to be part of their inaugural class where I could shape their rural program.

Personal Interests:

When I am not in the hospital I like to climb, ski, or spend my time eating my way around Seattle. I have climbed all the volcanoes in Washington and hope to soon have skied them all as well.

Clinical Interests:

Personally, I am interested in exploring how we can better deliver surgical care to those in our rural and underserved communities. In those communities, patients often delay their healthcare due to work, travel time/distance to surgeon, and lack of access. In the US, rural hospitals are closing at record rates and the ability to deliver the care to those in these communities will only become more difficult. I aim to start understanding the root causes and finding ways to implement better systems in order to get patients the surgical care they need.
