I was born in Lima, Peru, but I moved to North Carolina with my family when I was five. I grew up in Durham and studied Biology at Duke University. There, I had my first OR shadowing experience, which sparked my interest in Plastic Surgery. After two years of research in the Triangle area, I attended medical school at Mayo Clinic-Minnesota, where I am so grateful to have met supportive mentors who helped me further explore Plastic Surgery. I am excited to continue to train in this specialty and learn from the amazing role models and leaders at UW.

Hiking, painting, drawing, baking, wine nights & reality TV

Why UW?

I was fortunate to have an away rotation at UW, and I felt incredibly welcomed and supported by the faculty and resident team. They cared about me as a person and wanted to see me grow and succeed. I knew that I would be supported in my personal and professional growth if I came to UW for residency. Also, with its high operative volume and it being a busy trauma center, I knew that I would be exposed to a wide variety of cases. Finally, the caliber of the residents and their skill in the clinic and the OR spoke for itself to the quality of training at UW.

What do you like best about living in Seattle?

It’s so green year-round, and there are so many beautiful places to visit without going far! Also, the music and concerts!
