John W. Scott, MD, MPH
Associate Professor, Division of Trauma, Burn & Critical Care Surgery
Dr. Scott is a trauma surgeon, surgical intensivist, and surgeon-scientist who is seeks to ensure that all patients have timely access to high-quality, affordable surgical care. His research interests include health policy, health economics, health services research, and patient-reported outcomes. He has particular expertise in health insurance policy and evaluating patient-level financial outcomes including financial toxicity. In addition to his work at Harborview and SORCE, Dr. Scott is also an active collaborator at the UW Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME). He also enjoys teaching and mentoring the next generation of clinicians and scientists.
