As a member of the hand trauma team at Harborview Medical Center, I see a high volume of unique injury patterns that are relatively rare in other parts of the country. The goal of studying these injuries to look at data on an aggregate scale is to better inform treatment algorithms and determine the expected outcomes to ensure patient have the best chance at regaining function in the setting of reasonable expectations.
